Tax concessions for donors

Act No. 586/1992, the Income Tax Act, enables you to deduct the value of charitable donations from your tax base. If you want to be issued with a donation receipt for tax purposes, please complete this form.

Natural persons, including employees, may deduct the value of charitable donations from their tax base if the total value of charitable donations in the tax period (calendar year) exceeds 2% of the tax base or is at least CZK 1,000. A maximum of 10% may be deducted in total from the tax base (see Sec. 15, par. 1 of the Income Tax Act).

Employees, whose taxes are filed by their employers submit donation receipts to their salary department by 31 March.

Self-employed invdividuals (OSVČ) claim the tax deduction for charitable donations in their tax returns. Employees who file their own tax returns claim the tax deduction in a similar manner to self-employed individuals in their tax returns.

Legal entities may deduct the value of charitable donations from their tax base in accordance with Sec 20, par. 8 of the Income Tax Act, provided that the value of the donation is at least CZK 2,000. In total, 5% may be deducted from the already reduced tax base. Taxpayers not established or set up for business purposes are not eligible for this deduction (see Sec. 20, par. 8 of the Income Tax Act).

As stipulated by law, Prague Shoah Memorial is exempt from tax on financial donations and donations-in-kind used for charitable activities. The donations we receive are used in full to fund our activities.
