Stuart Eizenstat
Special Adviser for Holocaust Issues and the head of the international practice of the law firm of Covington & Burling. He was named Special Adviser on Holocaust Issues at the U.S. State Department in December 2013. During a decade and a half of public service in three U.S. administrations, Eizenstat has held a number of key senior positions, including chief White House domestic policy adviser to President Jimmy Carter (1977-1981); U.S. Ambassador to the European Union, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, Under Secretary of State for Economic, Business and Agricultural Affairs, and Deputy Secretary of the Treasury in the Clinton Administration (1993-2001). Much of the interest in providing belated justice for victims of the Holocaust and other victims of Nazi tyranny during World War II was the result of his leadership of the Clinton Administration as Special Representative of the President and Secretary of State on Holocaust-Era Issues. He successfully negotiated major agreements with the Swiss, Germans, Austrian and French, and other European countries, covering restitution of property, payment for slave and forced laborers, recovery of looted art, bank accounts, and payment of insurance policies. His book on these events, Imperfect Justice: Looted Assets, Slave Labor, and the Unfinished Business of World War II has been translated into German, French, Czech and Hebrew.

Madeleine Albright
Former U.S. Secretary of State. In 2012, she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, from President Obama. In 1997, Dr. Albright was named the first female Secretary of State. From 1993 to 1997, Dr. Albright served as the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations. Prior to her service in the Clinton Administration, she served as President of the Center for National Policy; was a member of President Jimmy Carter’s National Security Council and White House staff; and served as Chief Legislative Assistant to U.S. Senator Edmund Muskie. Dr. Albright is the author of five New York Times bestsellers: including her autobiography, Madam Secretary: A Memoir (2003). Dr. Albright received a B.A. with Honors from Wellesley College, and Master’s and Doctorate degrees from Columbia University’s Department of Public Law and Government, as well as a Certificate from its Russian Institute. Dr. Albright is a Professor in the Practice of Diplomacy at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. Madeleine Albright is Chair of Albright Stonebridge Group, and Chair of Albright Capital Management, an affiliated investment advisory firm focused on emerging markets.

Karel Schwarzenberg
Former First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Born on 10 December 1937. In 1948 he had to leave the Czech Republic and take refuge abroad. He studied law in Vienna and Graz and forestry in Munich. Especially as the chairman of the International Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in the 1980s, Karel Schwarzenberg pushed for adherence to human rights in Europe. Together with Vilém Prečan, he founded the Czechoslovak Documentation Center in support of Czechoslovak exiles and dissent (an archive of then-forbidden literature). The collection is now part of the National Museum and is stored in Prague. In July 1990 he was named chancellor to the president of the Czech Republic. He left the position of chancellor in 1992 in connection with the abdication of president Václav Havel. From 1992 to 2004, Karel Schwarzenberg managed his family company, mainly in forestry and the maintenance of the landmarks entrusted to him. In November 2004 he was elected as a senator in the Prague 6 electoral district. In January 2007, Karel Schwarzenberg was named foreign minister of the Czech Republic. In June 2009, Karel Schwarzenberg, together with Miroslav Kalousek, founded the TOP 09 party and was subsequently elected its chairman. Karel Schwarzenberg served as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs since 13 July 2010 until July 2013. He is currently a member of the lower house of the Czech parliament.
