Images and Voices of Bubny
We have opened the Fall season with a multitude of photo exhibits installed in the attic of the train station building. On display are: "Latent Pictures of Terezín" by Richard Homola and "Babí Jar" by Karel Cudlín. Also, the Polish Institute has loaned us a new traveling exhibition "Passports for Life" plus a series of comic stories titled "Together in Bubbles".
The exhibition also includes enlarged photographs of the Jewish transports to the Bubny train station and the life in Terezín (newly discovered in the archives of Jaroslav Čvančara and Milan Weiner). These are rare and unique photographs which fill in the gap of real life photographs regarding transports and Terezín. We are preparing a solo exhibition of these for the next season.
The exhibition was opened by a concert by the group Choroš.
Remembering BIIb Tuesday 14th July 2020
Concert for the Theresienstadt family concentration camp
The first wave of genocide in the so called Theresienstadt family camp BIIb in Birkenau on the night of 8th to 9th March 1944, marked the end of the false hope given to Jewish families who were being deported there since September 1943. The rest of the families were then murdered and the camp closed down between 10th and 12th July 1944.
Due to the coronavirus pandemics, the concert planned for the March anniversary this year was cancelled. In its stead, The Bubny Memorial of Silence has prepared a remembrance event for the anniversary of the second wave of liquidation.

17:30h : We will begin with a prelude at the former Radiotrh, the meeting point for Jewish transports (by the commemorative plaque next to Mama Shelter Prague hotel)
18:00h : We will walk together to The Great Hall of Veletržní Palace where you can also see the exhibition of Jan Lukas photos with texts from Ondrej Kundra „The second life of Vendulka V".

DRUMMING FOR BUBNY / 16 October 17:00
This year, fall is full of anniversaries. At Bubny Station, we will again gather to commemorate the anniversary of the first Jewish transport to leave Prague during the Protectorate.
As in previous years, we will attempt a different form of remembrance by organizing a public happening aimed at arousing the silent majority
and the silence of the largest sleeping brownfield in Prague
and the silence of the stories of the 20th century.
The silent majority was and will continue to shape events that should never have happened and should never be repeated... Passive and yet timeless. And so this year we will again drum against silence and against looking away from the dangerous social phenomena happening all around us:
Throughout the fall of 2018, we will be discussing expressions of neo-Nazi ideology at football stadiums.
On 16 October, the exhibition panels planned for the exhibition Football in a Century of Fouls will be exhibited at Bubny Station before they are installed in public spaces on Letná and the streets of Holešovice, where they will actively communicate with the public on the memory of places and on the invisible dramas playing out behind the city's facade.
Joining us to discuss how contemporary xenophobia relates to the events of the war will be Zuzana Kronerová. The event will be moderated by Anna Polívková.
After the many stars from the world of drumming who have joined us in the past, this year's Drumming for Bubny will feature THE RADEK BŘICHÁČ SAMBA BAND from Říčany under the direction of Miloš Vacík. This year's event partner is the Nature School (Gymnázium Přírodní škola).
The motto of this year's Drumming for Bubny is "Students for Students"
... because work is starting on Bubny Station's renovation (!), and the entire Memorial of Silence project is dedicated to them. The authors of the memorial's design are firmly convinced that the school's students can look forward to the project's completion in two years – before many of them will graduate. And we believe in and hope for and need your support – even if it's just to join us to the rhythm of the drums.

In our public radio debates broadcast from Bubny, we would like to focus this year on another of the grand topics of the future emorial of Silence: PROPAGANDA, CAMPAIGN VERSUS ANTI-CAMPAIGN The year 2018 marks the centenary of the founding of an independent Czechoslovakia, and will also be a crucial year for plans to redevelop Bubny Station into a MEMORIAL OF SILENCE. The final project preparations will culminate in the handover of the station building for redevelopment. You can find the entire program here.

First reactions to Drumming for Bubny 2017
There was a great turnout for the naming of Sir Nicholas Winton Street, which was attended by supporters of the Memorial of Silence, honourable guests, survivors of the events of the war at Bubny Railway Station from the Terezin Initiative, several of "Winton's Children" and even Winton's grandchildren, i.e., descendants of the children who were rescued on the so-called kindertransports.
The Mayor of Prague 7 drummed to the unveiling of a living street (the street sign) accompanied by children from Syria from families of asylum seekers settled here in Prague today.

Debate on Czech Radio Plus: “It's not true that the worst has already happened”
The commemoration of the anniversary of the first transport to leave Prague will open this year with a public debate broadca
st live across the airwaves from the hall of Bubny Station – tune in to Czech Radio Plus on 16 October at 4.10 p.m.
The title of the discussion "It's not true that the worst has already happened" is one of the key mottos for the theme of the memorial's future permanent exhibition. Confirmed guest speakers are: Václav Bělohradský, Eduard Stehlík, Helena Třeštíková, Eva Erbenová and Jaroslav Róna.

Drumming for Bubny is coming soon
The previous events and forthcoming rich program at Bubny station and its surroundings is primarily the build-up to DRUMMING FOR BUBNY 2017 on 16 October. This year's public happening against the passivity of the majority who watched on in silence will
take on even greater momentum with the participation of Slet bubeníků/Gathering of Drummers, led by Pavel Fajt. Tickets for the event can be purchased at Ticketpro.
The launching ceremony of a new radio station, BUBNY STATION, opened a new dialogue from the place of memory. This will be broadcast over the airwaves on radio, the internet and social networks, as well as directly from the stages close to the train station.
The launching ceremony on the evening of 21 September was attended by honorable guests such as writer Jiří Stránský, Vladimír 518, Šimon Ornest and others.
